Linda | formal portraits

We absolutely love when clients come back to us for all of their photography needs so we were thrilled when Linda called us to set up a formal portrait session. Last year we photographed Linda and her three kids at Cardiff State Beach and captured some incredible images that she now has beautifully framed in her home. For this photo shoot Linda wanted to create an image similar to one that she has of her mother from when she was younger. Linda had her makeup done by a friend of the studio Gale Alexander who did an amazing job..you can find her website here: www.make-up-artistry.com. She wore a beautiful burgundy dress with amazing lace and beaded details. The images are simply stunning and the prints we made for her will remain in Lindas family for hundreds of years to come!

Jennifer & Vlad | Engagement

Jennifer & Vlad are so clearly in love that you can’t help but smile when you are around them. They won a contest we created with our neighbors here on Cedros called “Wedding by Cedros” where they won $30,000 in prizes and we can’t think of a couple more deserving then they are! We are so excited to be photographing their wedding in just two short weeks at The Powerhouse in Del Mar. Congrats Jennifer & Vlad!

The Sawhney | Portraits on the beach

With the holidays just around the corner we have started to book up with clients who are looking for gorgeous and unique family portraits for holiday cards. The Sawhney family came to us for just that reason and were thrilled with the final results of their photoshoot. We began portraits down at Cardiff state beach…Jaxon and Jayden were FULL of energy and turned out to be total hams in front of the camera! We love the after sunset shots of the whole family on the rocks, the light is just so sweet about 10 minutes after the sun sets.

The Morris Family | Portraits at home

The Morris family walked into our studio one Sunday morning after visiting the farmers market across from our studio on Cedros (it’s great you should check it out if you haven’t already!) Once they saw the images in our studio they decided they needed to have a family portrait made and invited us to their home and the 3 acres it sits on. We spend the day creating beautiful images inside their house and then headed out to the tennis court and citrus orchard a litte later in the day. One of our favorite shots from the night is of Steve with the family chicken and his beautiful Aston Martin DB9.

Lucky in Love | Lynnie & Nicks Wedding

Welp folks I did it…I tied the knot! On May 30, 2011 I married a pretty awesome (and good looking) dude named Nick at a sweet and simple wedding in Littleton Colorado. In the months leading up to the big day I teased Kevin about how he would most likely cry when he saw me walking down the aisle (if you know us at all you know that Kev and I are pretty much best friends). Kevin laughed it off and said there is no way he would shed a tear. May 30th was an insanely beautiful day aside from the 40 mph winds and tornado warnings. We had a great time taking photos before the ceremony with our bridal party and before we knew it, it was time for me to walk down the aisle! As Florence and The Machine -”You’ve got the love” started playing I stepped out of the woods with my dad and saw Kevin with his camera snapping away. When I got closer to the gazebo I caught a glimpse of what Kevins face looked like behind that camera and boy were those tears-a-flowin! Nick and I wrote our entire ceremony so it was very unique and fun…we all laughed, cried, danced and even got to break a wishbone at the end of the ceremony. The rest of the day was amazing complete with a dessert tabled filled with our grandmas best recipes, BBQ and beer, dancing, a suprise vintage car and a slingshot bouquet toss! There are SO many incredible moments that stand out from that day (way too many to write in a blog post) and when Nick and I look back on the images Kevin took, we can easily say “Yep! That’s exactly how it all happened”. The only problem we have now is that I am in charge of designing the wedding album and its going to be HUGE. Nick and I can’t even begin to thank Kevin enough for all of the hard work, support and love he has shown us since we met him 2.5 years ago. Janell is an energetic and fun Senior from La Costa Canyon who was looking for some fresh images to represent this time in her life. She is a cross country runner and brought along her lettermans jacket as a great addition to the photoshoot. We started off with some beautiful images on the sand and later we headed up to a small cliff overlooking Cardiff Beach for the epic sunset shots. Janell is a natural beauty and the camera absolutely loved her…we wish you the best Janell and congrats on your recent graduation!

Allyson & Cedric | Engagement

Allyson and Cedric are an adorable who will be getting married a little later this year. They live downtown and wanted images around Seaport Village because that is where they often spend their time together. We started out in an adorable cupcake shop called The Frosted Robin Cafe and then strolled around the village with the happy couple using the many different textures and bright colors that the village has to offer. After witnessing the love between these two we are sure that they will happily ever after…

Tiller baby’s 1st birthday

It is one of our greatest joys to photograph the child of a couple whos wedding we photographed and that is the case with this little cutie. Her parents Annel and William were married a few years ago and we were so excited when we recieved a phone call from them letting us know that they had an adorable 1 year old who was in need of some 1st birthday photos. This cutie was great in front of the camera and we were able to capture her sweet innosense as well as her playful side.

Elizabeth Rodriguez | Senior Portraits

Elizabeth came to us with an amazing vision of a vintage themed senior portrait session and we LOVED the idea. She showed up at the shoot with a vintage suitcase in hand and outfits that matched the theme perfectly…we knew right away it was going to be an incredible photoshoot. Things started at the train station in Del Mar to play with the idea of her leaving to go off to school (she had a train to catch) then we headed down to the beach for portraits at sunset.
